Private tour, that means to arrange your group members in a private car or private coach, either with private guide service or without guide service, in this tour private car or coach will be your hotel to pick you up. In general private tour is usually customized tour.
Tour groups are 2 forms by packaged service, full packaged service group and half-package service group:
Full-packaged service group (All-Inclusive Tour group) means to package following items in mainland China: meals, accommodation, car transfers while arrival and departure a city, (air and train) transportation between cities (in general without guide service), car transportatoins for sightseeing, foreign language speaking guide service, sightseeing tickets, sightseeing bus and cable car ticket while sightseeing if necessary, prefered activities (event) arrangement with ticket if necessary, tour body insurance.
Half-packaged service group in general package in mainland China: accommodation with b'fast, car transfers with guide service while arraival and departure a city, (air and train) transportation between cities (in general without guide service) if necessary, tour body insurance.
And additionally, as private service, you can just entrust local travel agency to arrange / make booking of / offer service of any one or two of above items packaged in full-packaged service, , such as booking private car / coach and foreign speaking guide service..
Tour group size, means members in the group, either only you individual or a couple, a family, a group of relatives, a group of friends, a group of classmates etc to form a tour group.
Tour groups categoried by travel aims or topics: adventure tour group, cultural tour group, vacation tour group, medical tour group etc.
Self-guide service and Independent travel
It is more easy now for self-guide and independent travel in China, just scan QR code at almost all scenes with your mobile APPs.
Mobile applications are very widespread, with the help of mobile apps, you can travel smoothly in China. Wechat App with its mini-programs (miniAPPs) and other APPs in your mobile could help you to get e-guide (foreign speaking voice) in sightseeing spots, get location and nevigation, take a bus and hail a car, buy transportation tickets, ordering in restaurant, ordering takeout, translation, booking hotels and check-in, boarding plane and trains, nearby event and leisure etc.
Anyway, you can make reservation directly with service offered organs, and with OTA or local travel agency as well.
Travel Booking and Packaged Tour Service
If you need tour arrangement, travel booking with local travel agency, then you'd view cities page and tour operator to choice and to contact a local travel agency for negotiation.
In general, you should send them following information via e-mail or social media: cities and destinations (sightseeing spots) you prefer to visit, the length (days) of your travel in China, and estimated arrival date / city and departure date / city in China, number of tourists in this trip, gender and ages for all members, nationalities and citizenship for all members, special needs for this travel, personal habits and hobby for certain members, and describe your trip needs in accommodation, transportation, meals, shopping, guide service, visa arrangement etc.
In response, you will get an rough travel itinerary with cost quotation, service inclusion, travel tips, and booking and terms etc for your reference.
The itinerary will be fixed after serverial negotiations via e-mail, please make sure the "booking and terms", if okey, then your can e-mail local travel agency for information of makeing payment of booking deposit.
In general, local travel agency will make booking and arrangement after your deposit reached local travel agency's bank account.
The "booking and arrangement" with travel itinerary will be sent to you after booked and arranged your trip by local travel agency.
Next, with your international transportation tickets, getting visa, and prepare the departure, as well as buy an international travel insurance, pay the balance to local travel agency.
If the service included, in general, the local guide will hold up a paper writing your name to pick you up at airport while your arrival.
